The Charming village of Pernand-Vergelesses has been home to Domaine Laleure-Piot for three centuries. The estate is today run by the family’s fifth generation, Frederic Lalure. It extends over some 25 acres and encompasses fifteen different appellations. Domaine Laleure-Piot offers a complete range of Pernand-Vergelesses wines, from the simple ‘Village’ appellation to famous ‘Grand Crus’, along with the very best of the ‘Premiers Crus’ The wines are created from typical Burgundian grape varieties, Pinot Noir for the reds and Chardonnay for the whites. The vines, which have an average age of thirty years, are carefully tended throughout the growing season: pests and diseases are eliminated by the use of eco-friendly methods, so far as is possible, and, along with control of production, the Domaine ensures healthy harvests and well-concentrated juices. The grapes are picked by hand and meticulously sorted, allowing their vinification to be completed without too much intervention. The wines are matured in high quality oak casks, a quarter of which are replaced with new each year. Laleure-Piot wines are widely regarded as among the best from the Cote de Beaune.
